Against G20 repression: statement of the Internationalist Commune of Rojava

We are all the intended targets!

Freedom for all political prisoners!

The Internationalist Commune of Rojava stands in solidarity with comrades imprisoned all over Europe following the G20 Summit in Hamburg, which took place on 7 and 8 July 2017. Raids were carried out last month across the continent in Italy, France, Switzerland, Spain and Germany.

On 27 June 2018 then six comrades from Germany, four of them in the region of Frankfurt/ Main, were arrested.

German police asked for the support of citizens to help arrest the activists, going so far as to publish their photographs in national newspapers. They’re trying to involve all of society in their fight against autonomous political movements and struggles for freedom.

These arrests are a clear sign of the state’s need to implement repressive measures in order to enhance its own power, and spread fear amongst those who confront its injustice.

The same German state deports Kurdish activists to face torture and worse in the brutal Turkish prison system, and targets internationalists for the ‘crime’ of showing solidarity with the Kurdish struggle and the Rojava revolution.

These attacks are an attack on all of us who struggle for freedom all over the world.

The G20 summit is an embodiment of the authoritarian nation-state system based on a patriarchal, racist and capitalist logic, and against which we must defend ourselves.

There are movements of resistance in every part of the world, a worldwide network of people fighting for alternative and revolutionary ways of living. However much the Western nation-states try to stamp it out of existence, Rojava shows us that this revolution is possible.

We will continue fighting! We are everywhere!

Love and solidarity from Rojava to comrades and friends worldwide!

An Serkeftin an Serkeftin!
