On the 6th of January, jihadist gangs and members of HTS started attacking the neighborhoods Skeikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah in Aleppo. Every kind of air and ground weapon was used against two small neighborhoods. In the face of these attacks, our commanders and fighters made no concessions and resisted from the very first day on. Everyone was more than fully committed to protect the city and society.
The line of the Kurdish people is a line of struggle and resistance until the end. We commemorate the martyrs of the resistance, among them Ziyad Heleb, Denîz Çiya, Hawar Qendil, Rojbin Hesekê, Dilbirîn Qamişlo, and Feraşîn Efrîn, who reached martyrdom by resisting through self-sacrifice.
The comrade Denîz, for example, was a young professional sniper who, for 3 whole days, defended a whole building on her own. Through her action, she protected herself and all her comrades against 53 jihadist. All of the martyrs joined the war of honor with great moral, enthusiasm and determination. Through their stance, they built a deep sense of collective spirit among the people.
This war is a war against hegemonic forces in the world, leaded by the Turkish state. So our resistance should be a global, internationalist resistance which is following all the brave and humble martyrs. We will only determine it as a successful end when we have achieved the freedom of the Kurdish people and all peoples in the Middle East.
