After the breaking news that a visit had been taking place we want to share our evaluation and what it means for our struggle.
The breaking news: “On the 23rd of October Ömer Öcalan, the nephew of Abdullah Öcalan and the DEM Party Urfa MP, visited Abdullah Öcalan within the scope of a family meeting. Abdullah Öcalan made an evaluation regarding the general political developments during the meeting. He also requested that the following message would be shared to the public:
The isolation continues. If the conditions are right I have the theoretical and practical power to pull this process from the ground of conflict and violence to the ground of law and politics.”
He was in good health and sent lots of greetings to everyone. “
Our statement:
The Turkish state is facing a time of deep crisis. The ongoing guerrilla warfare and the international pressure that the global campaign “Freedom for Abdullah Ocalan. A political solution for the Kurdish question” made in this last year brought us to this result. Turkey was forced to change tactics in their attempt to eliminate the Kurdish people and struggle. The political developments of the latest days happening in Kurdistan and Turkey are showing the contradictions of the Turkish political, military and economical line. Also in the latest attacks on the free mountains of Kurdistan, Şengal and North-East Syria the Turkish state is showing its hypocrisy and its ongoing attempt to escalate the war.
History shows us that in times of international pressure and crisis the Turkish state always tried to fool the Kurdish people and the Kurdish liberation movement. As Rêber APO evaluates himself the horrible conditions of Imrali have not changed. The isolation continues. This is why we have to be aware of not getting fooled by the special warfare of the fascist Turkish state. It is quite sure that the intention of Turkey is not to give up easily but to take a breath from the international pressure and to create new plans of sharp elimination strategies.
We must understand this situation very well. Even if the situation has not changed its intensity, a possibilty for the democratic forces to rise the pressure and bring the freedom struggle to sucess has been created.
